Rest and Recovery Are Part of Fitness
Rest days, sleep, and gradual progress help make an exercise routine more sustainable.
Exercise is only one part of a fitness routine. Recovery gives your body time between demanding sessions, and sleep and adequate food support general health. Beginners may benefit from alternating harder sessions with lighter activity or rest.
Pay attention to persistent soreness, unusual fatigue, and changes in how you feel during exercise. Increase training gradually rather than making large jumps in duration or intensity.
Recovery needs differ between people and activities. If you have an injury or health condition, ask a qualified professional for guidance on a safe plan.
